End of the world

Hello,

yes it's coming tomorrow as I heard, so it would probably be my last post.

Proof is that there was a Zombie rehearsal a couple of month ago.

If you don't believe, it's just there.

And merry Christmas all ....

2 days of thunder, muscle cars racing

Australians love their cars and even more muscle cars.

I must admit this is not really Eco-friendly but to be honest I love it too, nothing wrong with a hot dog watching a few oldies racing around.

This was on 23rd and 24th of June on Queensland raceways near Ipswich about 40kms from Brisbane

Here are a few examples of what was on, unlucky for you I cannot put the Rooaarr on it

Ford GT40

Cobra

Falcon GT

Ford Escort

Ford Capri

Ford Mustang
I know this is a lot of Ford's there but more of the brand I like shapes and colours of these so why not.

Byron bay Australia far east

I just started to be able to visit a little Australia as this country is so big that you cannot go anywhere in a day which is sometimes a pain. For the one who don't know, it takes about 5hr by plane from east to west or north to south....told you it's big.

So this time it was a couple of days road trip to Byron Bay , couple of hours south of Brisbane where I am based at the moment.

Byron Bay lighthouse

The lighthouse is an iconic location there but this little village is mainly centered around the main beach

One colourful shop in Byron

Still as always you can see some wildlife in Australia .

Oystercatcher

Dolphins in the bay

The scenery around is definitely worth a look

Nangol or Land diving

Cessna Airclub Vila

Nangol or Land diving is one of the most impressive custom in Vanuatu.
I was lucky enough to witness this yearly event happening during the
wet season on the remote island of  Pentecost .
We hired a small plane from Port Vila  and of we went for a couple of flight hours above the water and this without incident youhou!!!

Grass streep landing, one more hour drive in a ute, and there we are near this 20+ meters high tower ready for the thrill (actually you don't do it yourself which is a relief.....)

Jump

safe landing

Couldn't believe the power of the culture which lead these guys to jump from there on the turf.
I must say that it sound more stupid than it really is.
For starter the tower is timber which is sort of flexible, then the vines they use, which have some elasticity and are soft due to the rainy conditions, are customized to body size and weight, when the body almost touch the ground, the board they jump from is breaking as a damper before landing on the "soft" ground.... Ouf.....

top of the tower and top of his world

It was a very powerful experience with the all tribe united in the background, cheering and chanting, if you can one day attend this event, go for it before it's gone for ever.
